Obituary for Naomi L. Meza Naomi L. Meza, age 72, of Mineral Wells, Texas, died Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born November 16, 1946, in Jewell, Oregon, the daughter of Reverend Roy and Catherine (Schmidt) Foster. Naomi grew up in Jewell, Oregon, and graduated high school in Portland, Oregon.

She moved to Ulysses, Kansas, in 1965. Naomi married Modesto Meza on July 27, 1966, in Clayton, New Mexico. After their marriage, they lived in Ulysses, Kansas, from 1967-1976; Pampa, Texas, from 1976-1989; Perryton, Texas, from 1989-1991; Ulysses, Kansas, from 1991-2012; when they moved to Mineral Wells, Texas.

While living in Perryton, Naomi owned and operated Perryton Optical. She enjoyed gardening, ceramics, working crossword puzzles, raising her family, and spending time with her grandbabies. Naomi is survived by her husband, Modesto of the home; three children, Tracy Meza of Mineral Wells, Texas, Larry Meza of Fort Worth, Texas, and Teresa Ochoa of Ulysses, Kansas; two brothers, Jerry Foster of Molalla, Oregon, and James Foster of Aurora, Oregon; one sister, Jenice McAlley of Anderson, Missouri; five grandchildren, Mark McAllister, Stephanie McAllister, Aaron Ochoa, Austin Ochoa, and Alia Ochoa; and one great-grandchild, Charli.

Naomi is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Eugene Foster and Dave Foster; and sister, Eva Foster. Funeral service will be Monday, December 10, 2018, at 10:00 AM at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Ulysses with Reverend Kelly Gindlesberger officiating. Interment will follow at Ulysses Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 9, 2018, from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Ulysses. Memorial contributions may be given to Naomi L. Meza Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
