Obituary for Russell Dean “Rusty” Landon Print Russell Dean Landon, 63, died Sunday, January 6, 2019 at his home. He was born November 3, 1955 at Garden City to Jay Dean Landon and Connie Harman Foster. He graduated from Deerfield High School and Garden City Community College where he received his associates degree.

In 1971, he served as a Page in the State Legislature. Rusty took classes at K State for extensive chemical application he used for his Coyote Ag Services. He was a spokesperson for Roundup and was in several ads and or commercials.

A lifetime resident of Garden City and Deerfield, he farmed for 46 years and was a commercial applicator and owner of Coyote Ag Services. He was previously married to Nanette Sperry Mishler and Patricia Riggs Landon. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Jean Lefevre, step father Bill Foster and one step sister.

Rusty was a member of the Church of Brethren of Garden City, the Deerfield Brotherhood, and had served on the Deerfield Methodist Church board. He was the president of the James Draw Watershed Joint District #87. After retiring from farming, he hauled grain for several local farmers and was always a helper to friends, family and neighbors.

Rusty was an innovator always looking for better ways to farm and live and had a fun sense of humor. He laughed long and hard over a joke or prank he performed on friends and family. Survivors include his sisters Kathryn Strand (Doug) of Wellington, Colorado and Tammy Molloy of Olathe, Kansas, two step children Michelle Myers (Eric), and Ryan Herrman, two step grandchildren Amber Stackenwalt and Karter Myers, step great grandson Vincent VanEyk.

Special friend and devoted caregiver Bebe Herrera and her daughter Denise Hundertmark,(Randal), and their children Tristin Nanninga, Devin and Nathan Hundertmark whom he considered his family and grandchildren as well. Also, three nieces, two nephews, one great niece and three great nephews, two step brothers and five step sisters and a step mother, Joan Landon. Funeral will be Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 2:00PM at the Church of Brethren, Garden City with the Reverends Bob Bates and Von Hunn officiating.
