Obituary for Helen Townsend (Barnes) Helen L. Townsend, 89, of Baltimore passed away on June 28, 2018. She was born on January 25, 1929 in Cockeysville, MD to the late William Lewis Marshall Barnes and Beulah Estella (nee Grimm) Barnes. She was married to the late Richard Wayne Townsend, Sr. Helen was a telephone operator with C & P Telephone Company and a personal caregiver of others.

She enjoyed playing cards, taking bus trips and playing bingo. Helen loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by son Richard Wayne Townsend, Jr. and his wife Fran of Bel Air; son David L. Townsend and his wife Gail of Reisterstown; son Mark K. Townsend and his wife Sandy of Stewartstown, PA; son Randy P. Townsend of Landsdowne; 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; sister Betty Pobletts of Westminster; brother Buck Blizzard; sister Mary Cage.

Predeceased by siblings Dorothy Murray, Florence Peeling Taylor, Bill Peeling, Charlotte Korman and Louis Barnes. Family will receive friends at the Eline Funeral Home, 11824 Reisterstown Road, Reisterstown, MD on Monday 10am to 12pm. Service will begin at 12pm.
