Obituary for Helen McCarthy Curtiss Helen McCarthy Curtiss, 90, passed away July 29, 2018, at the Presbyterian Home for CNY. She was born March 14, 1928, in Springfield, MA, the daughter of Timothy and Helen Brodrick Dillon McCarthy. Helen was educated at Our Lady of Lourdes School in Utica and the Academy of the Holy Name, Rome.

On October 28, 1981, she married Herbert D. Curtiss. Mr. Curtiss passed away on June 18, 1986. Helen was employed as an Assistant Manager at the Uptown Theater in Utica and the Presbyterian Home for Central New York.

She also worked at McDonald’s for many years. Helen was a member of The Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, Legion of Mary, Ladies of the Moose, The Blue Army and the American Legion New Hartford Post 1326. Helen is survived by nieces, nephews and great nieces.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
