Obituary for Helen M. Stulgis Hampton – Helen M. Stulgis, 69, of Hampton, died peacefully on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Wentworth Douglass Hospital surrounded by loving family. She was born September 18, 1948 in South Amboy, NJ, the daughter of the late William and Rita (Boyle) Willitts. Raised in Andover, MA she was a graduate from Presentation of Mary Academy with the Class of 1967.
Helen moved to Bedford in 1980 with her husband to raise her family. She spent the next 6 years there before making the Seacoast area her family’s permanent home in 1988. Helen loved the beach, music and spending time with her family.
She was the proud mother of two daughters and nothing made her smile and laugh more than her five beautiful granddaughters. Helen’s laugh was her signature and its uncontrolled energy was contagious. Also known for her kind demeaner and sense of style, Helen charmed everyone she met.
This extended to all walks of life, as she was a huge lover of animals. Helen shared 26 years of marriage with her late husband Peter J. Stulgis who died in 1997. She is survived by her daughters, Laura S. Spurchise and her husband Matthew of Beverly, MA, Abbie S. de la Campa and her husband Alejandro of Manhasset, NY; granddaughters, Reese and Alexandra Spurchise and Carmen, Vivian and Eva de la Campa; sisters, Judith M. Weston of Boynton Beach, FL and Elizabeth W. Tyrrell of Atlantis, FL and brother William J. Willitts of Boynton Beach, FL.
Visiting hours will be held from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at St. Theresa Church, 815 Central Road, Rye Beach, NH 03871. Burial will follow in the Center Cemetery, North Hampton.
