Obituary for Helen V. Hickey (Eschtruth) Helen Vickers Eschtruth Hickey, 86 of Savannah Ohio went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 7th 2018 in Nova, Ohio with her caregivers Mike and Linda Hickey by her side. She was born on January 5th, 1932 in Elyria, Ohio to the late Arthur and Alma (Vickers) Eschtruth. On November 1st 1950, Helen married the love of her life, Donald E. Hickey who preceded her in death.

Helen was blessed to be a stay at home mother and raise her 12 wonderful children. After raising her children, she pursued a career with State Farm Insurance Agency, where she would later retire. She was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church and Women’s Guild.

Helen enjoyed watching sports, traveling, going on family hayrides and playing cards. Helen is survived by her children Michael (Linda) Hickey of Nova, Ohio, David Hickey of Polk, Susan (John) Plank of Shiloh, Karen (Jerry) Claypool of Ashland, William (Karie) Hickey of Savannah, Donna (Danny) Streit of Savannah, Rebecca Hickey of Savannah, Barbara Weyant of Ashland, Patrick (Lorie) Hickey of Adario, Mary Bays (Chad Stoops) of Mansfield, and Raymond Hickey (Ronda Cains) of Greenwich, 46 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grand children, sister Ruth (Eschtruth) Mikeals of Summerfield, Illinois, brother-in-law Paul (Mary Lou) Hickey, sister-in-law Laura Hickey of Ashland, sister-in law Pat Mumaw of Savannah, brother-in-law Brooks Ringler of Greenwich. She was also preceded in death by her son Thomas Hickey, brother and sister-in-law John and Mary Ellen Bonfiglio, brother-in-law Mike Mikeals, sister-in-law Ruth Ringler, brother-in-law Dennis Hickey, brother-in-law Phil Mumaw, son-in-law David Weyant, granddaughter Melissa Adams, a great granddaughter Riley Flowers and nephew Marc Mikeals.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Edward Catholic Church, 501 Cottage Street, Ashland, Ohio 44805 with Reverend Father Rod Kreidler officiating. Interment will be in the Ruggles Cemetery. Friends may call Monday, November 12, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home.
