Henning Kjaer, 86 of Eltingville passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. Henning born in Denmark, moved to Brooklyn, Park Slope, before settling in Eltingville in 1958. A US Navy Veteran and Master Carpenter by trade, Henning worked for Ganco Construction until his retirement in 1984.

In his free time Henning loved horses, enjoyed working on his daughters farm, in New Jersey and was and avid Yankees fan relishing simply watching a baseball game. He was the beloved husband of the late Irma Kjaer who passed away in 2001. Loving father of Ruth Kjaer.

Devoted brother of Finn Kjaer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday at Holy Child Church located at 4747 Amboy Road Staten Island, New York 10312. Private cremation to follow.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Sunday, March 10, 2019, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Henning Kjaer please visit our Sympathy Store.
