Obituary for Henry Albert Atkinson Jr. Print Henry Albert Atkinson, Jr., 76, died Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at NHC Healthcare in Clinton. Born April 5, 1942, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Henry Albert Atkinson, Sr. and the late Eddie Mae Atkinson Carrington. He was a graduate of Mayewood High School and a member of Graham Baptist Church.

He was formerly employed by Texaco, Beecham Pharmaceuticals, Meeting Street Piggly-Wiggly, and Morris Nissan. Survivors include a sister, Sandra Atkinson DeWitt of Simpsonville; a brother, Rev. Kenneth Garret Atkinson of Tampa, FL; daughters, Amy Atkinson Hethington (Sean) of Mt.

Pleasant, Lisa Atkinson Reynolds (Sean) of Charleston and Leslie Atkinson Lavender (Larry) of Charleston; and five grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Atkinson. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 A.M. Monday in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev.

John Patrick officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 A.M. Monday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Graham Baptist Church, 4000 Highway 521 South, Sumter, SC 29153.
