Madison-Henry “Sonny” James Baggs Jr., age 57, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2018. He was born on June 15, 1960, the son of Henry Baggs and LaVonne (Hanson) Baggs. Sonny graduated from LaFollette High School.

He worked as a bus driver for 30 plus years, driving for a variety of school districts, and often drove the bus for special needs children. He… Read More » enjoyed rebuilding computers and repairing bicycles, but his greatest joy was spending time with his step-grandson, Kaandrae.

Sonny could smell a bargain a mile away and often visited thrift stores. Sonny is survived by three sisters, Debbie L. Baggs, Barbara A. Baggs and Marsha L. Baggs; two brothers, Rick L. (Barb) Baggs and Steven L. Baggs; step-daughter, Kelly Swope; and step-grandson, Kaandrae Brisco. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family and friends.

Sonny was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 4 p.m., on Friday, June 15, 2018. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
