Obituary for Herbey Lyle Graveside services for Mr. Herbey Lyle, 71, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Friday, November 9, 2018, at Salem Cemetery with Bro. Donnie Herring officiating under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline. Mr. Lyle passed away November 6, 2018, in Grand Saline.

He was born August 8, 1947, in Mineola, to Herbert Smith & Mollie Cleo Cherry Lyle. He spent most of his life in Grand Saline. Herbey worked for the City of Mesquite for 13 years and then TXDOT for 14 years.

He loved stock car racing and had raced as #87 at racetracks in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma throughout his time racing. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Sue Lyle of Grand Saline; son, Kevin Lyle and wife Jennifer of Grand Saline; daughter, Kelly Ivy and husband Jason of Grand Saline; four grandchildren, Matty Ivy, Eli Ivy, Karsen Lyle, Baleigh Barnes Lyle; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jason Ivy, Tony Miller, Jerry Hudgins, Mike Housden, Ray Overton and Terry Jordan. The family will receive friends 10 a.m., Friday at the funeral home.
