Obituary for Maxine Staggs (King) Services for Maxine Staggs, 86,Fruitvale, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, December 7, 2018, at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie Daniell officiating. Interment will follow in Creagleville Cemetery.

Ms. Staggs passed away December 3, 2018 in Mineola. She was born April 23, 1932, in Van Zandt County, to Loy Edward & Velma Dillard King. She was a lifelong resident of Fruitvale, a seamstress and also a member of Lawrence Springs Baptist Church.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; son, Bruce Edward Smith; brother, Loy King, Jr.; and sisters, Arletta Turner and Iva Nell Parker. Survivors include two daughters, Karen Leeman and husband Bill of Mineola and Gail Allen and husband Dale of Fruitvale; two brothers, Troy King of Dallas and Derrell King and wife Nanett of Texarkana; sister, Fay Willson of Flowermound; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Zachary Calvert, William “Bumper” Calvert, Jason Smith, Adrian Williams, Deandra Williams, and Garrett McCalla.

Honorary pallbearers are Allen Leeman and Terry McKnight. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
