Obituary for Lucille Monk (Fritz) Services for Lucille Monk, 78, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 3 p.m., Thursday, at Bartley Funeral Home with Steve Schifani officiating. Interment will be in Sand Flat Cemetery. Ms. Monk passed away November 5, 2018, in Grand Saline.

She was born January 19, 1940, in Grand Saline to Robert Vernon & Buenia Jarmon Fritz. She lived all her life in Grand Saline where she worked many years drawing house plans and building houses. She enjoyed working on barns and watching and feeding her birds.

She was also a seamstress, loved to dance and enjoyed working outside in her yard. Lucille is preceded in death by her parents; fiancé, Gary Fincanon; and brother, Robert “Buddy” Fritz. Survivors include the father of her children, Thomas Monk of Grand Saline; son, Tommy Monk and wife Mindy of Grand Saline; two daughters, Cindy Davis and husband Harlan of Grand Saline and Tammie Pollard and husband John of Grand Saline; sister, Carole Owens and husband Danny of Grand Saline; thirteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Davis, Mason Monk, Brian Means, Matt Means, Cody Monk and Marcus Pollard. The family will receive friends 2 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
