Hermalee Fife May 24, 1924 – February 13, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Hermalee (Hyder) Fife went to be with the Lord at Sunset Manor in Waverly, Kansas, on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at the age of 94. She was born on May 2, 1924, in Centerview, Missouri, the daughter of George and Flossie (Blake) Hyder. Hermalee attended and graduated from Centerview High School in Missouri.

On May 26, 1946, she and Robert E. “Bob” Fife were united marriage in Olathe, Kansas. They were the proud parents of two children, Herbert L. Fife and Brenda R. (Fife) Tracy. They spent most of their married life in Wichita, Kansas, and ended up retiring in Toronto, Kansas.

She and Robert owned multiple businesses together. She was a member of the New York Valley Church in Yates Center and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Hermalee enjoyed golf, fishing, gardening, cooking, and her grandkids.

In her retirement, she and Robert enjoyed helping the Enon Builders construct churches from Texas to Kansas. Hermalee was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Herbert; and two brothers, Marin and Herbert. She is survived by Robert, her husband of more than 72 years; her daughter, Brenda Tracy and husband Oran of Virgil, KS; her daughter-in-law, Nancy Fife Eagle of Virgil, KS; four grandchildren, Tami Jones, Samantha Morgan (Steven), Beth Stockebrand (Michael), and Nathan Fife; eight great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.

Cremation is planned. Memorial graveside services will be held 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at the Toronto Cemetery in Toronto, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to “Friends for Life” and may be sent in care of Campbell Funeral Home, PO Box 188, Yates Center, KS 66783.
