Herman Lucolia Melton, 88 of Casar-Lawndale Road, Casar passed away, Friday, September 7, 2018 at Peak Res in Shelby. Born March 13, 1930 in Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Jenes Melton and Maudie Beatty Melton. He was retired from Henredon Furniture.

Mr. Melton was a member of Christian Fellowship Church and former member of Casar Baptist Church. He was also a charter member of Casar Volunteer Fire Department. He served in the US Army during The Korean War.

In… Read More » addition to his parents he was preceded in death by six brothers, Zeno, Everett, Fay, Vosco, Rosco and Fred Melton; and three sisters, Annie Melton, Ethel Guffey and Pat Bingham. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Maude Kathryn Gettys Melton; two daughters, Myra Douglass and husband, Lee of Casar and Melody Roberts and husband, David of Shelby three grandchildren, Laura Roberts, Madelyne Douglass and Brody Douglass; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday, September 9, 2018, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home, Fallston A funeral service will be on Sunday at 3:00 PM in the Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.

Lloyd Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in the Casar Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Christian Fellowship Church, PO Box 303, Lawndale, NC 28090.
