Berniece Ellis Humphries, 87, of Shelby passed away Friday, October 12, 2018, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby. She was born October 12, 1931 in Lincoln County to the late Columbus Frank Ellis and Vertie Lee Greene Ellis. She was a member of Ross Grove Baptist Church and retired from the industrial engineering department of Doran Textiles.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Buren Walker Humphries, Jr. Berniece is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Lisa Humphries of Shelby, and granddaughters, Kelly Dietz and husband Sean and Samantha Guy and husband Chris; eight great grandchildren, Austin, Gabriel, Hannah, Sara Marie, Suzanna, Alex, Jordan, and Haylee; sisters-in-law, Gail Price, Peg Humphries, Cora Petty and husband Donald, Diane Patterson and husband Ronnie; and a special friend, Dot Upton. The family will receive friends at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home in Fallston Sunday from 2:00 until 3:00 pm. A graveside service will be at 3:30 Sunday at Ross Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Revs.
