Loyd Harrill Champion, Jr., 66 of 1140 Poplar Springs Church Road, Shelby passed away, Friday, October 5, 2018 at his residence. Born September 4, 1952 in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Loyd Harrill Champion, Sr. and Dorothy Ann Swink McNeilly. He was retired from Seal Wire Company and construction work.

Survivors include… Read More » his wife of 35 years, Sandra Weaver Champion; two daughters, Christena Champion (Shane Heffner) and Amanda Champion (Tim Parker) all of Shelby; two sisters, Cindy Ruppe of Lake Lure and Kathy Williams of Shelby; four grandchildren, Austin Pruitt (Jonna), Dustin Heffner, Rydell Brooks and Drason Brooks and two great grandchildren, Dawson and Aubree Pruitt.

Visitation will be 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Sunday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home. A funeral service will be 3:00 PM, Sunday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Slatton officiating.

Burial will be private.
