Obituary for Mr. H.V. “Pete” Taylor Funeral services for H.V. “Pete” Taylor, 92, of Gilmer will be held 2p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the chapel of McWhorter Funeral Home with Bro. Kyle Smith and Bro. Danny Trimble officiating.

Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm, Friday April 27th at the funeral home. Pete left high school to join the U.S. Army, and after his service, he returned to Union Hill High School and graduated.

He retired from TXDOT after 31 years of service, he also worked for Upshur Rural Electric COOP for 14 years. He was as a member and deacon of Pine Baptist Church for many years. Pete married Sue Bradley on October 14, 1950 in Kilgore.

He is preceded by his parents, 6 brothers, and 5 sisters. Survivors are his wife Sue Taylor; children, Mike Taylor, Johnny Taylor, Craig Taylor, and Brenda Thompkinson; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jason Taylor, Troy Taylor, Justin Taylor, John Michael Taylor, Rick Hanshew, and Sandy Mac Taylor.
