Obituary for Ruth Fannin Hill Funeral services for Ruth Fannin Hill, 101, of Gilmer will be held 10am Monday, May 28, 2018 at the chapel of McWhorter Funeral Home with Bro. Alan Metzel officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 5-7pm Sunday at the funeral home. Ruth was born December 6, 1016 in rural Upshur County to Arther and Serena Small Cadenhead and passed away Saturday in Gilmer. Mrs. Hill was a nurse at Ragland Fenlaw clinic for several years.

Ruth married her first husband Everett Fannin who preceded in 1984 then was married to Shelton Hill who also preceded her in death; she is also preceded in death by her daughters, Norma Jo Long, Bonnie Griffin, and Betty Skinner; grandchildren, Eric Geer, Mary Vaughn, and Julie Fannin. Survivors are her son and daughter in law, Jimmy & Mary Fannin; son in law, Alvin Skinner; grandchildren, Barbara Lacy, Linda Poulter, and Susie Brookshire. Pallbearers will be Jason Brookshire, Brent Lacy, Robert Poulter, Chase Sims, Benito Estrada, and Jeb Underhill.
