She was born September 12, 1933 in Jacksonville, TX daughter of Elbert and Maude (Bass) Baggett. She and John Comte were married on June 20, 1966 He preceded her in death on August 12, 2007.

Ida had been a home maker. She was a member of Heartland Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, Joe Comte of Perryville; one daughter, Doris (Don) Pitt of Paducah, KY; five step-sons and one step-daughter, John (Karen) Comte of House Springs, Michael (Mary) Comte of Perryville, Steven (Tena) Comte of Jacksonville, TX, Connie (Lawrence) Schumer, Mark (Bonnie) Comte and Kevin (Julie) Comte all of Perryville; four sisters, Hazel Evans, Joyce Little, Patsy Beezley and Mary Lackey all of Jacksonville, TX; 26 grandchildren, many, many great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, J.M. Baggett and one sister, Opel Odom. Visitation will be held at Young & Sons Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 26 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and on Thursday, December 27 from 6:30 am until time of service at 11:00 am with Rev. Jim Kiefer officiating.

Burial in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association.
