Ida English Osborne Lasley, 94,of Gaston, Indiana Went home to be with the Lord Friday morning, May 18, 2018 at her home in Gaston. Ida was born on June 19, 1923 in Caledonia, PA to the late Eli and Mary (Tyler) English. She was raised in Rossiter, PA and graduated from Wes-Del High School.

She went on to earn her degree in License Practical Nursing from Muncie School of Practical Nursing. Ida was a member of the Gaston Community Church and last surviving charter member of the Gaston American Legion Post 387 Women’s Auxiliary. Ida’s life’s work and love was working with children.

She did this through the Good News Bible Club, the 5 Day Club, and Child Evangelism Fellowship. Ida was also a former member of the Prairie Grove tet Group and Buena Vista Church in Farmland where she and her husband pastored. Ida is survived by two children, Michael Osborne (wife Darlene) of Gaston and Saundra McCowan (husband Bill) of Freedom, IN; three step-children, Kenney Lasley (wife Stephanie) Becky Adkinson (husband Ron), and Lynn Iseley (husband David); two sisters, Nelda Shields and Beverly Weaver (husband Joe); 15 grandchildren, Andrea Justice (husband Jared), Jacob Osborne, Emily Osborne, Brian Bennett, Keith Bennett (wife Yuriana), Christy Wethington (husband Mark), Lori Dayton (husband Andy), Steven Iseley, Chad Iseley (wife Megan), Matt Adkinson (wife Bobbi), Cheryl Dunham (husband Darren), Trish Halper (husband Brent), Krissa Benefiel (husband Judd), Jason Lasley (wife Kristin), Travis Lasley (wife Julianne); 27 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and three special friends and neighbors, Nancy Dillard, Terry Tudor, and Jill Straley.

Ida was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Osborne; her second husband, Lloyd Lasley; an infant son, Jesse Osborne; and ten siblings. A funeral service to celebrate Ida’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at Gant Funeral Homes, Gaston Chapel, 109 W. Elm St. in Gaston, IN. Ida’s son, Pastor Michael Osborne, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Thompson Cemetery. Friends and family may share and remember from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday, May 21, 2018 and also one hour prior to her funeral service on Tuesday at Gant Funeral Homes, Gaston Chapel.
