Obituary for Ike Everson Ike Everson, age 67, passed away on June 13, 2018 at Midtown Manor located in Salt Lake City, Utah due to cirrhosis of the liver. He was born on April 13, 1951 in Rochelle, Georgia to Johnnie Mae Lawson and Ike Everson, Sr. Ike grew up working on his grandmother’s farm in Georgia, shifting to Ogden, Utah when he was 21. Ike went into the construction field as a laborer and was incredible at what he did due to his strength.

He cherished being physically fit. Ike also had an amazing voice, a true gift from God. His voice is best described by listening to Johnny Mathis, Ike’s tone was very similar and extremely beautiful.

He had the opportunity to sing for the Governor of Utah in the 80’s as well as at the University of Utah, various churches and various entertainment facilities. He love to sing and it was natural. He was known by his daughter Ko-Ko and her friends as “The Pied Piper”.

Ike’s greatest blessing to others was his kind heart. He would do anything to help others including giving his last dollar so that someone did not go hungry. He will be deeply missed as he was deeply loved by many.

He is survived by his wife, Vickie; his children, Thor; Alexis and Kitoko (Ko-Ko); his siblings, Barbara Washington; Precious Mohammed; Pamela Frazier; Early Lynn Everson and Makeem Griffin.
