Ila Joan Summers, age 90 of Chesterton, passed away on July 2, 2018. She was born on March 9, 1928 in LaPorte, IN to John C. and Mildred Saidla, both of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her children: Collyn (Pam) Summers of Valparaiso, IN and Julie (Doug) Davis of Montana; her grandchildren: Stephen (Christine) Summers, Laura Evans, and Sara Oram; and by her eleven great-grandchildren.

She is also preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Summers in 2009, and by her brothers, Chuck and John Collyn Jr. Ila was the president of the VFW Post 2511. She was also a district member of the B.L.C. Guild and a member of the Duneland Seniors. She also enjoyed painting at the art gallery.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 12 p.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton, IN with visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery. Memories may be shared at: www.
