Obituary for Ira “Jack” Jackson Jr. Ira “Jack” Jackson, Jr., age 75, or Jewell Ridge, Virginia entered into Heaven on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Jackson was born on December 19, 1942 in Buchanan County, Virginia to the late Ira and Ethel Cooper Jackson. He made his home in Buchanan County with his loving wife, Dollie May Mullins Jackson, of 54 years.
Ira had a love for being outdoors and for hunting and fishing. His adventures often took him to Craig County, Virginia for whitetail deer hunting and to Dandridge, Tennessee for fishing. Mr. Jackson was a 1963 graduate of Whitewood High School.
He was a retired welder for Jewell Smokeless, where he was employed for 25 years. Ira was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Peggy Mullins and Shirley Martin; three brothers, Amos, Kirby, and Don Jackson; one infant great grandbaby, River Farmer; and one son-in-law, Ronnie Reedy.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his wife, those remaining to cherish his memory include His daughter, Greta Reedy of Jewell Ridge, Virginia Grandchildren Amanda Farmer and husband, Heath Tiffany Osborne and husband, John Natasha Reedy and significant other, Matt Dunkley Jordan Reedy and significant other, Brittany Sargent Alex Reedy and fiancée, Rachel Hess Great Grandchildren John Parker Osborne, Brayden Dunkley, Dekota Jace Farmer, Allie Harrison, Brenley Reedy, Raelyn Dunkley and future great granddaughter, Piper Osborne. “I may have suffered thru out this world, but I will not suffer any more.
All I have done will open the door to the Kingdom I have been longing for. Don’t cry for me for I am not in pain. His righteous glory is why I came.
I woke up in heaven calling his name. He came to me with open arms saying welcome home. Even though I may be gone always know you’re never alone.
For I will be with you every step and I’ll be protecting you while you rest”. ~ Heath Farmer Funeral services for Ira “Jack” Jackson, Jr. will be conducted at 2 PM Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia with Reverend Roger Keen officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia.
