Bertie Irene Claywell, age 86, of Hendersonville, TN, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2019. Irene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Richard Thaxton and Bryant Claywell; daughter-in-law, Sherry Thaxton; and her grandson, Jeremy Thaxton.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Thaxton Simpkins (David) ; son, Wayne Thaxton; grandchildren, Angela (Cleve) Sanders, Darrell (Tina) Thaxton, and Brandi (Shane) Claborn; great-grandchildren, Adam Sanders, Aaron Sanders, Autumn Sanders, Lacey Claborn, Kaley Claborn, Dalton Thaxton, Kelsey Thaxton; and one great-great-granddaughter, Kaisley. Her family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Friday, February 15, at Austin and Bell Funeral Home in Hendersonville. A Celebration of Life graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 15, at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
