Obituary for Irene Collins Irene Collins, 93, of Bonita Springs, FL, passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018. Formerly of Kensington, CT, she had been a Bonita Springs resident since 1962. She was born July 3, 1925 in New Britain, CT, the daughter of Mary (née Ozemak) and Stephen Dobeck.

She and her husband owned and operated the Wayside Inn from 1962 to 1980. She was an avid gardener and won many awards for her prized Hibiscus. Mrs. Collins is survived by her loving children, Harry M. Collins III of Ft.

Myers, Robert (Wendy) Collins of Bonita Springs and Thomas (Bonnie) Collins of Bonita Springs; and two grandchildren, Eric and Kristen Collins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Harry M. Collins Jr. in 1994; and by her son, David Collins in 2007. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home, 28300 Tamiami Trail South Bonita Springs.

Visitation for family and friends will take place at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Graveside services and burial will take place at a later date at Maple Cemetery in Berlin , CT. Arrangements are being handled by Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home – Family Owned Since 1978.
