Irene Garcia Thomas, age 62, of Amity, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018. She was born on February 26, 1956 in Mexico, the daughter of Pascual Garcia and Manuela Hernandez Garcia. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A registered nurse, she devoted her life to nursing. She was also an excellent cook and had cooked for the Circle R Restaurant and Mountain Harbor Resort. She enjoyed hunting and traveling.

She was Catholic in her faith. She is survived by three children, Roger Ferry of Amity, Michael Ferry of Hot Springs and Misty Carter of Amity; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Juan Manuel Garcia and Jose Antonio Garcia; five sisters, Clarita Garcia, Maria Consuelo Garcia, Martha Patricia Garcia, Olga Garcia and Maria del Carmen Garcia. Visitation will be held Friday, December 28, 2018, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Panteon San Ysidro in San Carlos, Coahuila, Mexico. Local arrangements and visitation are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Guest registry is at www.
