H. Irene Lantz, 94, of Colchester, IL died Sunday June 3, 2018 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. She was born on February 23, 1924 in Plymouth, IL to Vernon and Flo Powell Phelps. She married Roy “Jerry” Lantz on March 7, 1944 in Macomb, IL.

He preceded her in death on September 23, 1990. Irene was a graduate of Plymouth High School. She had been employed at King Sealy in Macomb for several years.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Colchester. She enjoyed fishing, scrapbooking, camping and most any other outdoor activity. She is survives by a son, Randy Lantz of Macomb, IL, a daughter, Linda I. Norris of Burleson, TX.

, 8 grandchildren, Cynthia A. Norris, Sarah I. Taylor, Elizabeth E. Miller, Michael Lantz, Patrick R. Lantz, Jessie Ketterer and Jordyn Lantz, 19 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Keith and Russell Phelps and 3 sisters, Leota Fitzjarrald, Esther Tones and Delores Hodges. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday June 8, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Colchester in Colchester, IL with Rev.

Dennis Clements officiating. Burial will be at Scott’s cemetery near Plymouth. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Colchester.

In lieu of flowers memorials contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Colchester. The Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL is handling arrangements.
