J. B. Street, Jr., age 83, of Unicoi, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at his home. A native of Mitchell County, NC, J. B. is a son of the late Jason B. Street, Sr. and Blanche (Woody) Street. He was a Barber as well as a Supervisor for the Upper East Tennessee region of the Tennessee Department of Transportation until he retired after 21 years of service.

J. B. was a member of Central Baptist Church and also attended Limestone Cove First United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Unicoi Masonic Lodge # 681 and a Past Master. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing Bluegrass music.

He loved his grandsons, who were the light of his life. In addition to his parents, J. B. Street, Jr. is preceded in death by: his son, Michael Street; sister, Janie Clark; brothers: Bill and Roy Street; and infant brother: Bobby Street. J. B. Street, Jr. leaves behind to cherish his memory: Wife of 62 years: Phyllis Ann (Odom) Street; Daughter-in-law: Donna Street; Grandsons: Adam Street, Jason Street; Sister: Joyce L. Bromwell; Brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Buddy and Barbara Odom; Niece: Cindy Odom-Higgins and husband, Michael; Great-nephew: Alystaire; Several other beloved nieces and nephews.

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of J. B. Street, Jr. in a funeral service to be held at 7:00 PM on Saturday, February 23, 2019 in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. Reverend Larry Wiley will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by Cindy Odom-Higgins and Reverend Larry and Martha Wiley.

A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 5:00 PM on Saturday, February 23, 2019 and will continue until service time in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. A graveside committal service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 24, 2019 in Bell Cemetery. Those attending will meet at Valley Funeral Home by 1:30 PM to go in procession.

Serving as active pallbearers will be: David Penley, Bud Blankenship, Jerry Puckett, Gary Shipley, Frank Rogers and Michael Higgins. Honorary pallbearers will be Eugene Crowder, James Howell, Wayne Clark, Mike Hensley, Craig Masters and the Deacons of Central Baptist Church.
