Jack B. Gravel of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, in Elderwood at Wheatfield, under the care of Niagara Hospice. He was born in Owls Head, NY, on July 12, 1932, the son of the late Aaron and Margaret [Beedie] Gravel. Jack graduated from Trott Vocational High School in 1952 and proudly served with US Army during the Korean War.

He was a millwright at Harrison Radiator in Lockport for 20 years, before retiring in 1987. Jack was a quick-witted man who loved to make others laugh and was an avid golfer both here and with his beloved friends in Lake Alfred, FL. He enjoyed playing poker, visiting the Casino and cheering on the Yankees.

Jack also aspired to be DiCamillo’s #1 competitor with his bread making skills! He is survived by his wife of 63 years Frances A. [Gooder] Gravel, they were married on September 10, 1955, two sons Gerald “Jerry” and Mark (Chris Callen) Gravel, two granddaughters Ashleigh (Corey) Scherrer and Kelly Gravel, one great granddaughter Riley Scherrer, also a niece and nephew. Jack was the father of the late Linda Gravel, brother of the late Raymond and a father in law of the late Lisa Gravel.

His family will be present on Friday from 5-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM, with the Rev. Matthew Kofahl officiating, with Military Honors to follow. Flowers are gratefully declined.
