Jack R. Hewitt, 88, of Terre Haute, passed away April 19, 2018 in his residence. Jack was born on December 1, 1929 in West Terre Haute to Edwin B. Hewitt and Ruth M. Cummins Hewitt. Jack was over a 50 year member of Maplewood Christian Church.

He was an avid baseball, football and basketball fan. He especially enjoyed watching the Indiana Pacers and the Indianapolis Colts. He was a member of the Order of Odd Fellows, Masonic Lodge 133 and The United Mine Workers of America.

He was a retired from Coal Mining. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as brothers; Willard Hewitt, Reese Hewitt, Max Hewitt and a sister, Mary Frances Hutchinson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Havens Hewitt who passed away July 5, 2006, they were married in 1950.

He is survived by his wife Joan Hewitt, a daughter Constance Siebels and her husband Paul of Parker, Colorado. He is survived by one granddaughter, Olivia Siebels and several Nieces and Nephews. Services are scheduled for Tuesday April 24, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN.

, 47804. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Pastor Tim Hewitt will be officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, that contributions be made is his memory to Eighth Avenue Baptist Church, 2128 Eighth Avenue, Terre Haute, IN. , 47804.
