Obituary for Jacqueline Pender Jacqueline “Jackie” (Stocker) Pender, 86, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, October 09, 2018 at the West River Health Campus surrounded by her family. Jackie was born June 15, 1932 in Evansville to the late Godfrey and Bernadine (Greubel) Stocker. She had worked at the University of Southern Indiana for 25 years before retiring in 1995.

Jackie was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, the Corpus Christi Women’s Club, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Little Sister’s Auxiliary and USI Varsity Club. Jackie was an avid sports fan and enjoyed traveling to USI basketball games and attending her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sporting events. After her retirement from USI, Jackie enjoyed traveling abroad with her husband Jim.

Surviving Jackie are her daughter, Keri (Steve) Anslinger; two sons, James (Dana) Pender and Daniel Pender; her brother, Tom Stocker and brother-in-law, Don Wedding, all of Evansville. Also surviving Jackie are her grandchildren, Chase, Chloe and Carlee Anslinger, Amber (Kyle) Hamilton, Michelle (Tom) Schaefer, Rusty and Jacob Pender; six great grandchildren, Ayana and Kevin Pender, Jackson and Eli Schaefer and Kiley and Avery Hamilton; many loving nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, Jackie was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, James Pender in 2014; by her sister and best friend, Patricia Wedding; her brother, Leo Stocker and by a grandson, Kevin Lee Pender.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Rev. Gordon Mann officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Mausoleum.

Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 7:00 PM on Friday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where there will be a memorial service conducted by the church at 4:00 PM. Friends may also visit with the family from 9:30 AM until service time on Saturday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 5528 Hogue Road, Evansville, IN 47712. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs of both West River Health Campus and Deaconess VNA Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.
