Mr. Robert Glenn “Bob” Byrum, age 92, of Franklin, KY, passed away Monday, October 8, 2018 at 4:08 AM at the Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro, KY. Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, October 11, 2018 with burial to follow in the Sulphur Spring Cemetery in Simpson Co., KY, with military honors by the Simpson County Honor Guard. Robert was born January 2, 1926 in Simpson Co., KY to the late Charles Venable Byrum and the late Willie Beatrice Starks Byrum.

A sister, Lillian Dale Byrum and a brother, Charles William Byrum, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Mary Anne Byrum; 2 children, Glenn Ray Byrum (Janet) and Robert Dale Byrum (Karen) both of Franklin, KY; 4 grandchildren Stephanie Norwood, Kristen Wheat, Deidre Buselmeier, Emily Didato and 6 great grandchildren. Robert was a member of the Franklin Church of Christ, American Legion Post #62, and VFW #5706 and Franklin-Simpson Benevolent Lodge #177.

He served on the Franklin City Commission for 5years and was retired business owner, selling farm equipment. He was a WWII Marine Corp Veteran. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM Thursday, October 11, 2018 until funeral service time at Gilbert Funeral Home.
