Russell E. Kincheloe, age 96, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 2:30 p.m. on October 3, 2018, at River Pointe Health Campus. Russell was born June 22, 1922, in Wadesville, IN, to the late Russell A. and Opal M. (Montgomery) Kincheloe. He graduated from Wadesville High School in 1939.

Russell was a member of Mount Zion General Baptist Church in Oliver, IN and attended Methodist Temple Church in Evansville. He served his country in the United States Army Air Force ATC during World War II in air traffic command from 1942 until 1946, and he was an ATC reunion member. Russell was a member of 265 AM Legion and VFW Post 1114.

He retired in 1985 from General Electric Corporation after 21 years. Russell was a past president of Tri-State Sams Camping Club Chapter 35, and he was voted King of Indiana in 1997. He is survived by his daughters, Belle Fahrer (Bobby) of Evansville and Janet “Susie” Stierley (Harold) of Wadesville, IN; sons, Kenneth Kincheloe (Judy Wareham) of Winter Haven, FL, Thomas Kincheloe (Sandy) of Evansville; and John Kincheloe of Lewisville, TX; sisters, Juana “Lucy” Saunders of Evansville and Delores “Dodie” Babillis of Mount Vernon, IN; grandchildren, Katelynn Fahrer, Nik Fahrer, Derrick Kincheloe, Wes Kincheloe, Shawn Kincheloe, Kristie Gilbertsen, and Cindy Johnson; and step-grandchildren, Joni Mayhan and Leah Vantlin; 7 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild, and special friend, Jo Ann Fritz.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 59 years, Myrtle E. (Schnabel) Kincheloe, who passed away June 17, 2016; sister, Geraldine Becker; and brother, Robert Kincheloe. The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Robert Rusche, Deaconess VNA Hospice, and the nurses and staff at River Pointe Health Campus. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 8, 2018 at Mount Zion General Baptist Church, 1425 Oliver Road Wadesville, IN, with Pastor Andy Payton and Pastor Darrell Hillhouse officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery where Vanderburgh Retired Veterans will render full military rites. Friends may visit from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue and from 9:00 a.m. until service time, Monday, October 8, 2018 at Mount Zion General Baptist Church.
