Obituary for Catherine “Cathy Jo” Kellems Catherine “Cathy Jo” (Wilhite) Kellems, 64, of Evansville, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018, at The Good Samaritan Home. She was born July 28, 1954, in Evansville, IN to the late Ruth Catherine (Wagner) and Virgil F. Wilhite. Cathy Jo enjoyed arts and crafts, bingo, fishing and most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Cathy Jo is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Evans of Washington, IN; grandchildren, Jacob Evans and Kierston Cates; sister, Francine (Jim) McCann of Petersburg, IN; brother, Danny (Joan Little) Wilhite of Evansville. A niece she considered a daughter, April (Paul Goodloe) Frederick; and her children, K.K., Aquairus and Carter; special little buddies, Jayce, Jonas, and Layla; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie Wilhite; sisters, Denise Frederick and Tammy Johnson.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Monday, October 8, 2018 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave. , with a memorial service at 3:00 pm at the funeral home. The family of Cathy Jo, on her behalf want to thank her big brother, Danny and Joni for all they did.

They were more than family, they were her “best friend”. They dedicated the last 6 plus years of their lives to be her caregivers. They always made sure she was safe, happy and always felt loved.

They never gave up on her. Danny, kept his promise to their Mother when she passed, to “keep Cathy Jo Safe”…. .
