OBITUARY Darrell Wayne Palmer April 17, 1942 – October 3, 2018 We are blessed to have so many wonderful memories with Darrell (Dad, Grandpa, Great Grandpa) throughout his 76 years. He was a person who was driven to work hard, to appreciate others, and to love and take care of your family to the end. Darrell Wayne Palmer passed in peace Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the age of 76.

Husband of Norma Jean (Fulton) Palmer. Loving father of Gwen (Jef)f Godsey and Dirk (Gina) Palmer; grandfather of Zach Godsey, Chris Godsey, Alexis (Brock) Longest, Lauren Jean Godsey, Mikaela Palmer; great-grandfather of Evelyn Godsey, Brayton Godsey, and Maeleigh Van Paris. Further survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents William Meade Palmer and Norma (Pfleuger) Palmer, his siblings Kenneth Palmer, William Palmer, and Debbie Miller, and grandson Derick W. Palmer. Darrell was a successful business owner, worked at ALCOA for 30 years, served in the US Army during the Vietnam War as SGT/E5, a graduate of Indiana State University with a Master Degree, a graduate of Reitz High School, and a member of the River Bend, VFW Post 1114, Germania Maennerchor, a lifetime Harley Davidson Harley Owner Group, and of University of Southern Indiana Varsity Club. He was an avid runner, enjoyed bicycling, riding motorcycles, boating, vacationing, and laughing with others.

Friends and family may visit Friday, October 5, 2018 between 3 PM and 8 PM at Alexander North, Saturday, October 6, 2018 between 9 AM and 10 AM. Funeral Service at 10:00 AM. Darrell will be laid to rest at Alexander Park Cemetary, Mesker Park Dr, Evansville, IN.
