Obituary for James A. Curl Sr. James Alvin Curl, Sr., age 87, of Morristown, passed away on Monday, November 19, 2018. He was a member of Buffalo Trail Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge 767, Shriners and Knoxville Scottish Rite. He was preceded in death by his son, James A. Curl, Jr.; parents, Ernest and Faye; sisters, Maxine Shackelford and Helen Curl; brothers, Kenneth, Burl, Franklin and Roy Curl.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Bernice Shackelford Curl; son, Leroy (Kelly) Curl; daughters, Debbie (Butch) Honeycutt; Doris (Larry) Ricker, Sue Drake; grandchildren, Robert Ricker, Melissa (David) Gossett, Brad (Wendy) Honeycutt, James Eric (Allison) Honeycutt, Misty (Adam) Adkisson, Savanna Curl, Lynzee Curl, Richard (Lyndsi) Curl, Christian (Lauralee) Dearing; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; sister, Minnie Schrader; brothers, David Curl and Albert (Sherrie) Curl; sister-in-law, Ruby Curl; brother-in-law, Sammy Shackelford; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 7:00 PM Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Fielden Chapel with Dr. Keith Mowery and Rev. James Eric Honeycutt officiating.

Interment 11:00 AM Friday in Pleasant Grove Piney Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM prior to the service at Fielden Funeral Home in New Market. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of James A. Curl Sr. please visit our Sympathy Store.
