Arcade — James C. Fraschetti Sr. of Arcade and a former resident of Higgins died Friday, June 22, 2018 in the Absolut Care of Houghton Nursing Home. He was born on September 30, 1931 in Buffalo, a son of the late Joseph and Madge Jasmer Fraschetti. He married Virginia Markowski who survives.

James was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard serving from 1955 to 1975 and was a former employee of Pioneer Central School. He was a former member of the Centerville Fire Department and a faithful member of St. Patrick’s Church in Fillmore. He loved sailing, building his own sail boats and sailed them on Lake Erie.

James will be remembered as a wonderful, mild mannered and sweet man who was quiet but solid in all aspects of his life. Surviving in addition to his wife are their children, James (A na) Fraschetti Jr. of Puerto Rico, Lucy (Ed) Fernandez of Indiana, Chris (Barb) Fraschetti of Houghton, eight grandchildren, a brother, Leo (Elsa) Fraschetti of Hermosa Beach, California and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends may gather from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N Genesee Street, Fillmore.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at St. Patrick’s Church, Fillmore. Fr. Dennis JJ Mancuso will officiate.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Fillmore.
