OBITUARY James Carl ” Big Murph” Murphy October 26, 1947 – November 23, 2018 James C. Murphy, 71, of Louisville, KY passed away on Friday November 23, 2018. Carl was born on October 26, 1947 in Louisville to the late James and Mildred Murphy. He served in the U.S. Navy; he later retired from Louisville Metro Corrections of 26 years.

Along with his parents; his brother, Russ Lee Murphy, daughter, Teresa Ann Murphy and Michelle Lynn Brown have preceded him in death. Here to carry on his memory are his wife of 38 years, Elva Louise Murphy; son, James Michael Murphy; grandchildren, Stephen Wayne Brown (Nicole, Tyler Wayne Murphy, and Tiffany Lee Brown; great grandchildren, MaKenna Lynn Reichardt, Kyleigh Danielle Reichardt, Brantley James Blackford, Carson Wayne Brown and Emaleigh KayLynn Brown; sister in-law, Eileen O. Murphy; niece, Megan E. Murphy. Visitation will take place from 2-8pm Monday, November 26th at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road.

A service in honor of Carl will be held at 12pm on Tuesday, November 27th at the funeral home, with a private burial taking place in Resthaven Memorial Park.
