Obituary for James Metallo James Edward Metallo, 71, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at the Addison of Pleasant Prairie, surrounded by his family. Born in Kenosha on January 24, 1947, he was the son of Emil and Therisa (Marrelli) Metallo. James graduated from St. Bonaventure’s High School in Sturtevant in May of 1965.
He then attended St. Francis College before transferring to Marquette University, where he graduated in May of 1970, with a B.A. in liberal arts. From 1974-1999, James was employed by MacWhyte Wire Rope Co. On October 21, 1972, he married Carole Wiberg at St. Mark’s Catholic Church. They were blessed with a son, Jason Geoffrey on June 1, 1978.
James and Carole loved to travel. Prior to 1978, they visited Europe twice, and shared fond memories. After 1978, they traveled as a family throughout the US, including Washington D.C., Florida, California, trailblazing in a covered wagon along parts of the Oregon Trail, Colorado, Missouri, and Mississippi.
His final major trip was to Alaska in 2008, with his son. In 1987, James was elected to the KUSD School Board. During his term, he served as the Legislate Chair, Treasurer, and as President until 1994.
Survivors include his loving son, Jason Metallo; mother, Therisa Metallo; and a sister, Carmella Beukovich. He is further survived by other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Carole Patricia Metallo on November 15, 2014; his father, Emil Metallo; two brothers-in law, and two sisters-in-law.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Addison and Hospice Alliance for their compassionate care. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, July 13th, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 7117 14th Ave, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will take place at church prior from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Interment will take place privately at St. George Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice Alliance would be appreciated by the family.
