James F. Andersen, 70, of Beatrice died at Beatrice Health and Rehab on Wednesday, February 13, 2019. He was born July 17, 1948 at Lincoln and graduated from Beatrice High School. He served in the United States Navy from 1967 – 1970.

He worked as a roofer for Buss’s Roofing and then was a cook at the Steeple House. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Beatrice. He was also a member of Bitting-Norman Post #27 of the American Legion and Geddes-Thober Post #1077 of Veterans of Foreign Wars both of Beatrice.

Survivors include his mother, Margaret Andersen of Beatrice; one brother, Ronald (Tammy) Andersen of Omaha; one sister, Joyce (Larry) Hartman of Nebraska City; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Andersen; one brother, Duane Andersen and his wife Marie. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, February 18, 2019 at Fox Funeral Home with Father Robert Barnhill officiating.

A Scriptural Rosary will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday at Fox Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice with military honors conducted by Bitting-Norman Post #27 of the American Legion. A memorial has been established to the American Legion.

The body will lie in state at Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice from 12:00 noon to 8:00 P.M. on Saturday and Sunday and one hour preceding the services at the funeral home on Monday. www. foxfuneralhome.net Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
