JAMES’ Obituary James F. Rowell, 86, of Robards, Kentucky, a former longtime resident of Greenfield, Indiana, passed away Monday, October 8, 2018, at St. Anthony’s Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center. He was born January 27, 1932, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to the late George and Ethel (Fiscus) Rowell. After graduation from Jackson Central High School, James entered active duty with the U.S. Navy on March 26, 1951, and served on the USS Cassin Young.

He attended Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, and was pastor in Greenfield, Indiana, for more than nine years at First Assembly of God Church and for one year in Porter, Indiana. James was also a licensed funeral director and worked for Pasco Memorial Mortuary and Conkle Funeral Home. After retirement, he worked for more than 20 years at Marsh Supermarket in Greenfield, Indiana, as the produce clerk having retired in September 2014.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Dolores Rowell, who died October 6, 2013; a stillborn daughter in 1953; an infant son who died in 1958; one infant grandchild; four siblings, Lester, Alfred, and George Rowell and Wilma Streter; several nieces and nephews. Survivors include his wife of three years, Waunita Jones of Robards, Kentucky; one daughter, Renee Malone of Westville, Indiana; one stepdaughter, Cindy (Jones) Lester and her husband, Don, of Sacramento, Kentucky; two stepsons, Greg Jones and his wife, Tammy, of Henderson, Kentucky, and Eddie Jones of Paducah, Kentucky, three grandchildren, James (Amber Evans) Malone of Westville, Indiana, Nathan (Teresa McWhirter) Malone of Portage, Indiana, and Rebecca (Jason) Samuels of Michigan City, Indiana; four great-grandchildren; three nieces and two nephews. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, October 11, 2018, at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home in Henderson with a brief memorial service to follow with Pastor Mike Cisneros.
