James “Jim” E. Humphreys, 79, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Bettendorf Health Care Center, in Bettendorf. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Monday, October 15, 2018 at Jim and Cathy’s residence. Memorials may be made to the family.

Jim was born March 30, 1939 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of J. Fred & Mary (Sachs) Humphreys. Jim was a 1961 graduate of Augustana College, and was proud to be an “Augie”. On April 28, 1973, Jim married Cathy Hansen.

Jim was a jack of all trades; He was a skilled woodworker, a fantastic cook, and was known as a prankster. The hobby he enjoyed most however was photography. He especially enjoyed photographing the desolate forest covered landscapes of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado and Wyoming.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Cathy; his sons, James (Georgine) Humphreys of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jason Humphreys of Bettendorf, and his daughter, Kristi (Bill) Lear of Chatham Illinois Jim was preceded in death by his parents.
