OBITUARY James K. Gallagher April 24, 1926 – September 22, 2018 GALLAGHER, J. Kenneth (‘Ken’) – 92, of Hingham, formerly of Cohasset, Duxbury, Plymouth and Chatham, passed away September 22, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Marguerita R. Gallagher, with whom he shared 61 blessed and loving years of marriage. Marguerita predeceased Ken in June of 2016.

Born in Brighton, MA, he was the son of the late James F. and Mary C. (McNamee) Gallagher of Chestnut Hill, MA. Ken, a graduate of Boston University, served in the US Navy during both World War II and the Korean War. Following his return from service, Ken spent over 30 years as a manufacturers rep in the furniture industry.

He was a loving husband and father, devoted Catholic, and logophile (forever studying words). He enjoyed dining, dancing and traveling with Marguerita, and possessed a quick wit to the end. Ken is survived by his devoted children and their spouses/partners: Colleen Gallagher and Dan Carlson of Scituate, Sean Gallagher and Christine Scordato of Boston, Patrick Gallagher and Wendy Gallagher (Steinmueller) of Scituate, Mollie Kowalski (Gallagher) and Joe Kowalski of Hyannis and Lisa McNelly (Gallagher) of Fort Worth TX.

He was the loving grandfather of Ryan Gallagher of London, England, Meghan Gallagher of Hingham, and Annabella McNelly of Fort Worth, TX. A joint memorial service for Ken and Marguerita will be held this Sunday, September 30 from until 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate, MA In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to: Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (www. jdrf.org/donate/).
