James L. “Jimmy” DiStefano, Sr., 67 of Palm Coast, beloved husband of Linda DiStefano, died June 25, 2018 at the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House. Mr. DiStefano was born September 14, 1950 in Boston, MA. , a son of Sebastian DiStefano and Grace Grasso.

He held the positions of Produce Manager, store manager, trainer and ended his career as a USDA Inspector before his retirement in 2014. Jimmy and his wife moved from Connecticut to Port Orange in 2002, then to Palm Coast in 2004. After his retirement, he enjoyed spending his time with children as a bus driver for Sunshine Academy in Palm Coast and a volunteer t-ball coach in Flagler County.

He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, and enjoyed golfing, bowling, and dancing. He also was a proud member of the AMVETS. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda (Carafa) DiStefano, whom he met in the Marine Corps, and married May 30, 1970; two sons, Jamie DiStefano, Jr. and his wife Aimee of Stratford, CT, and Billy DiStefano and his wife Lea of Northford, CT; four grandchildren, James DiStefano, III.

, Haille DiStefano, Madison DiStefano, and Mason DiStefano; brother Paul Hickey and his wife Julie of Ipswich, MA; sister, Diane Owenby and husband Jed of Black Mountain, NC; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends will be received Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 1:00PM – 4:00 PM at Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford CT, 06615. The family also extends an invitation to continue the celebration of Jim’s life at his son’s house, 245 Reeds Gap Road in Northford CT, following the service.

Dinner will be served. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House in Palm Coast, FL. Online condolences may be sent to www.
