James Lee Martinez May 07, 1987 – February 28, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card James Lee Martinez, 31, of Rock Springs, Wyoming passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at his home. He was born on May 7, 1987 in Cheyenne, Wyoming and was the son of Larry Paxton II and Melissa Paxton. James attended school in Rock Springs and was a 2005 graduate of the Independence High School.

He was employed as a foreman and heavy-equipment operator for Pitt Construction for the past two and one half years. James was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Community. His interests included spending time with his children and family.

He loved listening to his music, drawing and going to the lake. Survivors include his parents Larry Paxton II and Melissa Paxton of Rock Springs, Wyoming; his girlfriend Morgan Renae Bauer of Rock Springs, Wyoming; two sons Jakob Dean Bauer, Kyler Dean Star both of Rock Springs; three daughters Bryell Schnieder, Oaklynn Martinez, and Aazayla Martinez all of Rock Springs, Wyoming; three sisters Megan Paxton, Marie Paxton, and Isabella Stangl all of Rock Springs, Wyoming; maternal grandparents Jose’ and Antonia Martinez of Rock Springs; paternal grandfather Larry Paxton of Green River, Wyoming; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his cousin Richard A. Martinez, aunt Dori Benbo and cousin David Boobach.

Following cremation, A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:30 A. M. Friday, March 8, 2019 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 116 Broadway Street, Rock Springs, Wyoming. A Vigil Service with Rosary will be recited at 6:00 P.M., Thursday, March 7, 2019 at the Vase Funeral Chapel, 154 Elk Street, Rock Springs, Wyoming. Friends may call at the Vase Chapel on Thursday one hour prior to the Rosary and on Friday at the church one hour prior to Mass.
