Mr. James Michael “Mickey” Farrar, 75, of Swainsboro passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Emanuel Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Farrar was born July 16, 1943 in Fayetteville, TN. to the late James Halbert Farrar and Doris Lineberger Farrar.

He was preceded in death by her parents. Mickey graduate from Fayetteville High School in 1961 and received an Associate of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Draughons College in 1963. Mickey had a career in design engineering that began at the Nashville Bridge Company in the 70’s and carried him internationally for special projects.

He was also an ordained Baptist Minister and served as pastor at Middleton, Kentucky and College Grove, Tennessee. During retirement, he enjoyed his work at Tom’s Pawn Shop in Swainsboro. Survivors include his loving wife, Gayle Farrar; son, Michael Farrer (Barbara), and Chris Brett (April); daughters, Melissa Groves (Chuck), Jaclyn Farrar, and Tabbie Holder (Kyle);brothers, Lanny Farrar (Johna), and Dennis Farrar (lynne); grandchildren, Nicholas, Jacob, Emma, Holly, Caroline, Connor, Cody, Shelby, Harley, Hunter Terra, MacKenzie, and Maggie; great-grandchildren, Aubree and Adaleigh; several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Memorial Service will be in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 14, 2019. The Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00a.m. Monday, January 14, 2019 at Chapman Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed at www.
