James R. Russell, 82, of Florence passed away Monday, June 18, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born July 13, 1935 in Livingston)MT. Jim served in the United States Air Force from 1953 – 1957.

Shortly after being honorably discharged, he met Charlotte McClain in Philipsburg, MT. Jim and Charlotte were married on August 8, 1958. They made their home in Florence, MT where they raised their four daughters.

He is survived by his wife Charlotte, four daughters; Barb Roberts (John), Andrea Jensen, Robbi Russell (lshmail) and Rhonda Anderson (Jesse), seven grandchildren; Ashley (Kevin), Kent (Shae), Brook, Morgan, ZaKhara, Aaliyah, Tayah and siblings Viola Kistle (John), Emory Russell (Barbara), Tom Russell (Bonnie) and Darlene Purser. Jim was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved his animals, refinishing furniture, gardening and playing practical jokes.

A tough but gentle soul, Jim will be dearly missed. Honoring Jim’s wishes cremation has taken place and no services are planned. The family invites you to a time of sharing memories and fellowship at the Florence Fire Hall at 234 Holloway Lane in Florence on Saturday June 23rd from 1 to 4 pm.
