Obituary for James Randy Alapeck James Randall “Randy” Alapeck, 57, of Charlotte, died unexpectedly on June 7, 2018, from injuries sustained after being struck by a motor vehicle on June 5. Randy was born on April 24, 1961, in Endicott, New York, the son of Richard and Phoebe Shanley Alapeck. He grew up and attended high school there then moved after graduation.

His father, Richard, worked for IBM and had moved to Charlotte so Randy moved to Charlotte to be near his father. He attended trade school for auto body repair and made that his career. When he was not working, he enjoyed listening to music and any outdoor activities.

Most of all, however, Randy enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends. Randy is survived by two children, a son Blake Alapeck of Mt Pleasant, NC, and a daughter, Taylor Alapeck of Mt Pleasant; his father, Richard (wife Deidre) Alapeck of Mint Hill, NC; three brothers: Kirk Alapeck of Mint Hill, Richard Alapeck of Mint Hill and Scott (wife Jodi) Alapeck of Endicott, NY; and a sister, Lisa Alapeck of Hickory, NC. He is further survived by numerous other family and friends.

Randy was preceded in death by his mother, Phoebe Shanley. Randy’s family has given the family of Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home the privilege of caring for them. A graveside committal service is scheduled for 1:00 pm on Friday, June 15, at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227.
