James Robert Mannell, 92, passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at Signature Healthcare in South Bend, IN. He was born on July 5, 1925 in Lockport, IL, to Harold and Dorothy (Collins) Mannell, both of whom preceded him in death. Jim married the former Mary Mahoney, who preceded him in death on December 14, 2007.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Eileen (Mark) Staley of Cassopolis, MI; four sons, Jerry (Kathy) Mannell of Carmel, IN; Bob (Susan) Mannell of Carmel, IN; Jim (Cindy) Mannell of South Bend; Mike (Lesleigh) Mannell of Niles, MI; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marilyn McGuire of Joliet, IL, and Kay Corrigan of Oak Park, IL; and one brother, Jack (Melba) Mannell of Bellingham, WA. Jim was the owner of Four Seasons Window Company. He has resided in the Michiana area since 1967 and was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in South Bend.

He loved playing Scrabble and word games. He also enjoyed fishing as well as feeding his birds while living at the lake. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 52473 S.R. 933, South Bend, IN.

Graveside services and burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00-7:00pm on Monday, April 30th at Palmer Funeral Home—Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN, as well as from 10:00-11:00am on Tuesday prior to Mass at the church. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Jim may be donated to Cass County CASA (Court-Appointed Special Advocates), 120 N. Broadway Street, Cassopolis, MI 49031.
