Eulala Geraldine Walz, known to her family as “Nanny”, was born June 19, 1923, and passed away on April 18, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Best known as “Tiny” to her friends, she married the love of her life, John Robert Walz, in June of 1944. Tiny and John were married for forty-five wonderful years.

Tiny’s single greatest of joy was her family, of whom she was immensely proud. Tiny worked with her family at J.E. Walz Furniture and enjoyed playing bridge, bowling, and traveling with her friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert “Pops” Walz, in 1990.

She is survived by her children, John M. (Barbara) Walz of Newport Beach, California, Jim (Margie) Walz of South Bend, Tom (Patti) Walz of South Bend, Julie (Butch) Rowley of Orlando, Florida, and Kelley (Kroy) Crofoot of Orlando, Florida. Tiny leaves behind 16 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Trudy Bradley, of Zebulon, North Carolina.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 20, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Palmer Funeral Home – Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan St., South Bend. Services will take place on Saturday, April 21 at 10 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 3012 S. Twyckenham Dr., South Bend, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery.
